Our activities include Jesus Time, reading and math readiness, science experiences, a variety of art activities, physical education, computer, rhythm, music, games, and planned exercises to help develop coordination, and also play time to aid in social development.
Jesus Time
Stories of Bible characters-how they lived, how their
life relates to ours, e.g. sharing, helping, loving, obeying. Learning
about God and His love for us. Stories of Jesus' life and how He
helps us. Stories for children, families, animals, fictional characters
who teach us how to learn to live togehter. Learning to pray-thanking
God for the day, for our families, friends, school, food, for our world.
Reading Readiness
Alphabet recognition, name recognition, charts, games,
songs.
Math Readiness
Counting objects, charts, shapes, colors.
Physical Education, Health and Safety
Body parts, five senses, good health habits, taking care
of ourselves. Tornado and fire drills. Use of the parachute,
balls, balloons, scooters, gymnasium, and outdoor age-appropriate playground
equipment.
Science
Our curriculum includes units on fruits, nature, insects,
shadows, and seasons. Children have access to a science discovery
table where they can experiment with magnets and tornado tubes. We
also have a sensory table that is filled with different substances such
as corn, water, etc.
Art Activities
Children are given frequent opportunities to use a variety
of art materials including tempera paint, finger paint, as well as crayons,
scissors, construction paper, clay and play dough.
Music
Children's songs, nursery rhymes, silly songs, Bible
songs, tapes, records, children's music, videos, musical instruments, dance
movement and exercise, musical circle games.
