CURRICULUM
In addition to the usual subjects in the elementary school the Christian religion is taught. It is taught as
more than just a subject but as a way of life spreading through the total curriculum. As the child goes through
our school, he/she learns more of the chief doctrines of the Missouri Synod. In order to make religion become
a part of him/her, the child learns from memory the chief doctrines of the Bible, prayers, Bible verses, hymns,
and the six chief parts.
In some of the secular subjects, workbooks are used along with the texts. Science labs are used in the
primary grades. In addition to religion, the subjects are: reading, language arts, social studies, science, health,
mathematics, spelling, Spanish, physical education, art, and music. Computers and educational television are
available to all grades. All subjects are taught with a Christian approach and given a Christian interpretation.
We have a 3 year old pre-school, 4 year old preschool, all day Kindergarten through eighth grade, hot lunch program and a full athletic
program.

In addition to tests in the classroom the students are tested by nationally standardized achievement and
cognitive ability tests. A state mandated reading test is given to all third grade students.

Grades 4-8 use the Kruel Library.
|
FIELD TRIPS
Field trips are considered part of the curriculum of the school because they contribute directly to the
teaching of the child. Children are prepared for field trips in advance and parents are informed.

of the number of sports a student is participating in and will be assessed in grades 5-8 for any student
in any extramural sport and cheerleading.
Our extramural sports program relies heavily on volunteer coaches, referees, timers, scorekeepers,
drivers, etc. As your talents permit, please volunteer your services to the athletic director.
