Administrative Pastor: Daniel Seehafer
Daniel J Seehafer was born in Merrill, Wisconsin. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1993, and his Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1997. As part of Concordia's global education program, he had the opportunity to travel and visit the Holy Land. He also studied in Tallinn, Estonia. His two years of field work were at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Decatur, Indiana. He served his vicarage year at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Wisconsin. In March of 1995 he was commissioned as a Navy Officer and enrolled in the Navy Chaplaincy program.

Daniel started as Assistant Pastor of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Horicon,Wisconsin, in August 1997. On October 22, 2000, Pastor Seehafer was installed as the Administrative Pastor.

Daniel, his wife Denise, and children Jacob and Emma live in the Township of Beaver Dam.

Associate Pastor: Jonathan Szczesny
Jonathan D. Szczesny was born in Buffalo, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia in 1992, and his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1997. His two years of field work were at Our Hope Lutheran Church in Huntertown, Indiana. He served his vicarage year at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Terre Haute, Indiana. Upon his graduation from seminary he served as associate pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Adel, Iowa from 1997-2000. In 2000 he was commissioned as a Naval Officer and entered active duty as a Chaplain - serving in the Navy for two years and assigned to the Marine Corps for four years.

Jonathan accepted the call to serve St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Horicon,Wisconsin as associate pastor in the spring of 2006. On 7 January 2007, Jonathan was installed as associate pastor.

Jonathan and his wife, Ya-Fen and children Jonathan II, Anastasia, Lin-Li and Gail live in Horicon.

Vicar & Church Music Director: David Hagen
David Hagen was born in Algoma, Wisconsin. He attended grade school at St John's Lutheran, Two Rivers, WI. He graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School in 1975. Following High School, he attended and graduated in 1981 from Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN, with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, concentration in music. In May 1983 Certified as Lay Minister from Concordia College, Milwaukee, WI. During 1994-1995, David pursued additional Studies at Faith Seminary, Tacoma, Washington, He taught grades 4-8, and was the principal, organist and choir director from 1981-1982 at Salem, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Other churches served were St. John's, Buckley, IL, pastoral assistant, 1983-1985. Triune God, Brooklyn Center, MN, youth and music, 1985-1989 St. John's, Austin, MN, youth and music, 1989-1991 Messiah, Sterling, IL, pastoral assistant, 1991-1995 St. Stephen, Horicon, music director, 1995-1999 and 2007--. In the fall of 2011 David entered the Specific Ministry Pastor program, beginning his studies through Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He will serve as vicar at St. Stephen while continuing his work as Music Director. David and Kathleen were married in 1982 and have three children- Kyle, Trevor and Noelle.

Church Secretary Kathy Mallmann
Kathy Mallmann grew up outside of Plymouth, Wisconsin. In 1982, she received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Lakeshore Technical College and married Jim Mallmann. They operated a dairy farm in Sheboygan County until 1998 when they moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana for Jim to attend Concordia Theological Seminary. In 2003 they moved to Mayville when Jim began serving as Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church. They have three sons; Tyler who lives in Plymouth with his wife Tiffany and son Austin, Jacob who resides in Marshfield and Jordan who attends UW-River Falls. Kathy has been St. Stephen Church Secretary since February of 2004. Kathy and Jim, live outside of Mayville.

School Administrative Assistant:Kim Bonack
Kim Bonack grew up in Mayville, Wisconsin and lives just outside of Mayville with her husband Don. They were married in 1982 and have 2 boys. Dustin is a graduate of UW-Platteville and works in construction management. Cory is a sophomore at UW-Platteville in the Criminal Justice program. Kim's favorite activities are reading, fishing and spending time at her cottage near Tomahawk, and riding with Don on the Harley. Kim has been the School Administrative Assistant since March of 2001. Kim and Don, live outside of Mayville.

Administrator, Grades 7 & 8:Rick Holz
Rick Holz grew up on a dairy farm south of Hustisford, Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education, American History, and European History from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 1995. Rick has experience teaching mainly fifth through eighth grades in three different Lutheran schools. When not teaching, Rick serves as the varsity girls' basketball coach at Horicon High School and in his free time he stays active by biking, golfing, and participating in softball and bowling leagues. Rick has been teaching at St. Stephen since August 2006 and teaches 7th and 8th grades. He also teaches 5th through 8th grade math, social studies, and English. In addition to teaching, Rick serves as the school administrator and the athletic director. Rick lives in Horicon.

Grades 5 & 6:Kathleen Adamson
Kathleen Adamson was born in Madison, WI and grew up in Waunakee, WI. She attended UW-Madison where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Archaeology/Anthropology in 1994. After working in this field for several years, she taught 6-8th grade Math at St. Patrick's school in Mauston, WI until 2006. In 2008 she earned her Master's of Education from UW-LaCrosse. She started teaching at St. Stephen in August 2010. Kathleen and her husband Joe have two children, Jordan and Joseph. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, running, boating, gardening and painting. Kathleen and her family live in Horicon.

Grade 4 & Music All Grades: Laura Hurtienne
Laura Hurtienne was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Parkside with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Laura is married to Matt who is the Dean of IT and MPTC and the Chief for Deer Grove EMS. Matt and Laura have two children, Cecily and Emmit. Laura has taught music since 1998 to infants up through 8th grade. In her free time, Laura is a Birth Doula and loves photography, reading, crocheting, and music. Laura has been the music teacher at St. Stephen since November of 2008. Laura and her family live just outside of Horicon.

Grade 3:Beth Miskimen
Beth Miskimen was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Brookfield, Wisconsin. She graduated from Concordia University in Mequon with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1994. She has taught in three Lutheran grade schools. She is married to David, the Living Word Lutheran High School's Athletic Director, Science Teacher, and varsity football coach. They have two children, Riley and Cade. They have two dogs and two cats. When she is not busy teaching or being a mom and wife, she enjoys reading, scrap booking, and gardening. Beth has been teaching at St. Stephen since 2004 and teaches 3rd Grade and 3rd & 4th Grade Art & Physical Education. Beth and her husband, David, and children, Riley and Cade live in Hustisford.

Grade 2:Amy Springer
Amy Springer was born and raised in Crown, Minnesota. She attended Concordia College, Minnesota where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education in 1997. She taught Kindergarten for one year in Duluth, Minnesota before moving to Horicon to teach 2nd Grade at St. Stephen. In 2005 Amy earned her Master's of Education from Concordia University, Wisconsin. When she is not busy at school Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, crocheting, and working logic puzzles. Amy began teaching at St. Stephen in 1997 and teaches 2nd Grade and 1st and 2nd Grade Social Studies. In addition to teaching Amy is the Student Council Advisor, the school librarian and she is on the Youth Board. Amy lives in Horicon.

Grade 1:Janelle Wenzel
Janelle Wenzel grew up outside of West Bend, Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Concordia University, Wisconsin in 1992. She taught and was director of Trinity's Little Lambs Preschool and in the afternoon she taught first and second grade at Zion Lutheran School both in Herscher, Illinois. Her teaching experience spans preschool through Grade 4. In June, 2008 she and her children moved back to Wisconsin to join her husband, Mark, who moved back to Wisconsin at the end of January, 2008 to serve as Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. She and her husband have 3 children, Kaitlyn, Aaron and Makayla. Janelle began teaching at St. Stephen in August of 2008 and teaches 1st Grade. Janelle and her husband, Mark, and children Kaitlyn, Aaron and Makayla live in Beaver Dam.

Kindergarten:Stacey Klomberg
Stacey graduated from UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1995. In December of 2000 she received a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood from UW Oshkosh. She taught at St. Stephen from 1996-2000 during which time she taught preschool in the mornings and 8th Grade Language Arts in the afternoons. From 1997-2000 she taught Spanish to K-8. She left to travel to Germany with her husband in 2000. She then came back to teach 7th Grade from 2003-2005. In 2005 she took some time off to have her children and returned in the Fall of 2006 to teach preschool. From the Fall of 2006 to the Spring of 2008 she also taught 4th Grade Language Arts in the afternoons. Stacey enjoys warm weather, reading, golfing, walking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Stacey has been teaching at St. Stephen since the Fall of 2006. she taught 3 & 4 year old preschool thru the 2008-2009 school year. She will teach kindergarten starting with the 2009-2010 school year. Stacy and her husband, Peter and children Lukkas and Madelynn live in Beaver Dam.

Preschool:Dawn Steger
Dawn Steger was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and grew up in Theresa and Horicon. She and her family moved to Horicon in 1975 where she attended 5th through 8th grade at St. Stephen. In May of 1979 she became a confirmed member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. In 1985 she graduated with a 2-year Associate Degree from MPTC, and began her 12-year career in banking. In 2002 she became a teacher's aide for the St. Stephen Preschool. In December of 2008, she graduated from MPTC with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. Dawn and her husband, John, have three children, Travis, Trent, and Samantha. Travis is currently(2009) a senior at Concordia University in Mequon and pursuing a double major in Business and Marketing. Trent is currently (2009) a sophomore at Concordia University in Mequon in both the Marketing and Graphic Arts programs. Samantha is a sophomore (2009) at Living Word Lutheran High School in Jackson. Dawn enjoys spending any extra time she has with her family. Dawn has been the teacher's aide at St. Stephen since 2002, and is very excited about being the new preschool teacher. Dawn and her family reside in Horicon.

Child Care Administrator: Tricia Peterson
Tricia Peterson was raised in Horicon, Wisconsin. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Management and in 2004 with a Child Care Services Degree from Moraine Park Technical College. Tricia is married to Brad who works in Menomonee Falls, WI. Brad and Tricia have two children, Quintin and Blake. Tricia has been in the child care profession since 1998. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, camping and playing softball. Tricia has been the Child Care Director at St. Stephen since February of 2010. Tricia and her family live in Mayville.

Head Cook: Stacey Seeber
Stacy Seeber is from Columbus, WI. She moved to Horicon in 2002. She is a single mom of one. She is engaged and will be a stepmom to a girl. She has been in food service for 16 years. She is enrolled in school studing for a BS in Nutrition Science. In her free time she enjoys being with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, music, movies and outdoor activities.

Head Custodian: Mark Ward
Mark Ward was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1981. He worked at First National Bank/Valley Bank/M&I Bank from 1980-1994. Following, he worked in the maintenance department at Wayland Academy from 1994-2000. He enjoys hunting and fishing and spending time at the cottage in Fairchild, Wisconsin. He is also an avid Wisconsin sports fan watching as many games as he can. Mark has been with St. Stephen since January of 2000. Mark and his children, Bailey and Hunter live in Beaver Dam.
